Alexey Fedorchenko was born on September 29, 1966 in Sol-Iletsk, Orenburg Region and resides, since 1967, in Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk). In 1988 he earned an engineering and economics degree from the Ural Polytech (currently Ural State University of Technology) and later did a screenwriting degree at Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (class of V.K. Chernykh, L.A. Kozhinova & Yu.I. Rogozin), from which he graduated in 2000. Alexey started out as an engineer-economist at the defense plant Automatika (1988-1990) and went on to work at Sverdlovsk Film Studio as an economist, deputy director, producer, and film director (1990-2005). In charge of the Production Department since 2000, Alexey was involved in the production of +80 films. In 2005 Alexey joined February 29 Film Company where he works as a film director and producer.
