In a small village in the Ural Mountains all people except one – the hearing impaired half-wit Lyosha – lead ordinary lives. Lyosha lives in a makeshift house of garbage and spends his days creating circles in the fields and trying to catch a radio signal from an extraterrestrial civilization. The laughing stock of this village, everything changes for Lyosha when he finally encounters the one he’s been hoping to meet for so long.

Born in the Urals, Ivan worked at a creative agency while a student, making commercials and videos. He later directed more than 16 short films and 2 feature films, some of which won prizes from international festivals (Sapporo Film Festival, Vancouver Film Festival, FilmFestival Cottbus, to name a few). His short film The Interview (2019) won an honorable diploma from the Russian Film Critics Guild at Kinotavr Film Festival, and the Golden Eagle Award.
