ARCTIC OPEN 2023 – 2024

First held in the land of Pomors in 2017, the International Film Festival ARCTIC OPEN has been always more than just a film screening venue. ARCTIC OPEN is a multi-stage, cross-cultural, inter-regional project with a diverse line of training and outreach events in the field of modern audiovisual arts, cinematography, media and ethnic cultures, that last throughout the year.

This year’s Arctic Open features a sub-project called KinoPort. ARCTIC OPEN. Not only will it serve as an ‘Arctic cultural berth’ to welcome the participants, it will be a portal to the future of the Arctic areas as more attractive destinations.  Its slogan being “The future of the Arctic begins today!”, the KinoPort will set the tone and theme for the official selection.

The 7th ARCTIC OPEN IFF offers an extensive program with cultural venues, training sessions, business program, special selection ARCTIC OPEN – CHILDREN, and meetings with actors and filmmakers.

This year’s Arctic Open’s business program is facilitated by the ideologists of Russia 2062 – a project that brings together filmmakers, Arctic media, community leaders, science and businesses. We invite you to join us in our effort to create a model of a positive and attractive future of the Russian Arctic. The slogan of this year’s program reads “The future of the Arctic begins today!” and sets the tone and theme for the official selection.
