Entomologist Alexey Polilov is one of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ youngest associate fellows. In charge of Moscow State University Department of Entomology at 33 and the RAS associate at 40, Alexey turned 42 and is seen by colleagues as Russia’s most promising zoologist. His research activities focus on the microinsect flight and morphology. Because of their tiny size, microinsects remain one of the least studied creatures on Earth. The research team under Polilov has done some amazing progress studying them in their laboratory, which is currently the world’s number one on microinsects.
